This is a really refreshing article. Many people (myself included) have drank the MVP Koolaid from time to time. Of course, it’s a very powerful concept, but its good to see this kind of modified perspective on it.

With that said, fundamental to what you wrote was your definition of success e.g. serving lots and lots of users.

However, there are industries and markets where tons of users is like, 500–1,000 MAU. In fact, this is considered a great success. For this situation, in my opinion, MVP‘s should stick to not building in technical scalability.

So, what you wrote is true, but when it’s based on the market you’re in.
